Marilyn Grimshaw

Obituary of Marilyn Grimshaw

GRIMSHAW (Malkin), Marilyn – Marilyn passed away at Bluewater Health on Saturday, 23 March at the age of 88 while loving family gathered together to be with her in her final hours.  She got her wish of living in her own home until the end with the caring support of family and friends. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Norm Malkin (1991) and Vaudine Malkin (1999). She is survived by her beloved and doting children: Rob (Mary-Ann); Doug (Kathy); Lynne (Jim); and her seven grandchildren, who were all the light of her life: Ian, Olivia, Sam, Ben, Charlie, Lindsey and Johanna. Marilyn was an avid bridge player and an active volunteer in the community. She was a constant and welcome presence at the gift shop in the Sarnia Hospital, where everyone who ever met her would have felt the sincere care and kindness for which she was known. She also devoted many years with the Sarnia Yacht Club Race Committee where she maintained life-long friendships in the sailing community. Besides her utter devotion to family, and most notably to her grandchildren, it was the Duplicate Bridge Club that brought her so much daily pleasure. There is an empty place in all of our hearts; we will miss you Mom/Grandma. Private interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Toronto at a later date. Friends will be received at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. on Friday, 12 April between 4 and 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Terry Fox Foundation, https://terryfox.org/contact-us/ or the Kidney Foundation of Canada, https://kidney.ca/
