McMANUS, ROSS ALLAN - Peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, Ross Allan McManus died at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 54 years to the late BARBARA CAROLINE (CRONE) MCMANUS. Dear father of the late Julie Gilmore (2003), Stephen McManus & his wife Denise, Corunna, Lynn Sexton & her husband Tim, Sarnia, Leonard McManus & his wife Inderjit, Sarnia, Shelley McManus, Sarnia and Carrie Ward & her husband John, Sarnia. Father-in law of Michael Gilmore & his wife Janet, Sarnia. Loving grandfather of Stephanie Gilmore, Jeffrey Gilmore & his wife Laura, Philip Gilmore & his wife Melanie, Heather Terpstra & her husband Tim, Melissa McManus, Brent McManus & his companion Tinacia Cepeda, Chantelle McManus, Justin McManus, Kristin McManus and Shawn Sexton and his wife Julie. Great-grandfather of Julie and Alexis Gilmore, Logan, Dylan and Lorelei Terpstra, Steven Switzer, Khloe McManus, and Abbigail & William Sexton. Dear companion to Doris Maw, Petrolia and dear brother to Dorothy Arton, & Harold Maw. Predeceased by an infant daughter Susan Gail (1951), his parents Alex and Rita McManus and sister Lenore Howlette. Ross took great pride in raising his family and appreciated family gatherings. He was a fabulous Father that brought his family much joy. Ross enjoyed his philanthropic work and fellowship with members of his lodges. He participated in parades as a member of the Lambton Shrine Club Motor Corps and also enjoyed playing cards. When his children were younger he enjoyed boating on Lake Huron with them. He was a member of; the Central United Church (Sarnia), Scottish Rite Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Burns Lodge #153 Wyoming (past Worshipful Master), Victoria Lodge #56, Holy Royal Arch Wawanosh Chapter #15, Lodge of Perfection Sarnia and Lambton Shrine Club. He worked at Fiberglas Canada for 36 years, & retired in 1987. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Friday, August 14th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Lilian Patey. Cremation to follow. A private family interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Canadian Mental Health Association, 210 Lochiel St., Sarnia, N7T 4C7 or the Shiners' Hospital for Children-Canada, 1529 Cedar Avenue, Montréal, PQ H3G 1A6.
