Obituary of Patricia Ann Kingyens

KINGYENS, Patricia Ann (Jones) – Peacefully, in her 82nd year, with her loving husband by her side, Patricia's spirit entered into eternal peace on Monday, February 9, 2015. Beloved wife and best friend of Gerald Kingyens, who steadfastly loved and cared for her through sixty-three years of married life. They raised four children; enjoyed eight grandchildren; and later ten great-grandchildren. Dear mother of Sharon Taylor (David) of Sarnia; Cheryl Clausen (John, 2012) of Cobourg; John Kingyens (Lynn) of Sarnia; and Peter Kingyens of Saskatoon, SK. Loving grandmother of Kevin, Meighen, Joshua, Jeffrey, Kristen, Brooke, Ryan and Sarah. She will be missed by her sister Marlene Fink (Peter) of Red Deer, AB; sister-in-law Dorothy Jones (Clayton, 2004); and many cherished nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur Leslie and Marguerite (Murphy) Jones; brother Clayton Jones (2004); and son-in-law John Clausen (2012). Born in Kirkland Lake, ON, March 17, 1932. Following graduation, she joined the RCAF in St. John, QC. After marriage to Gerry on October 28, 1951 life continued in Virginiatown, ON until 1953 when the family moved to start a new life adventure in Sarnia. Pat worked for years at St. Joseph's Hospital Admitting, Sarnia Police Department and for Dr. Bob Griffin. She was a long standing board member of Huron House Boys Home where she served as the first female chair, and of St. Benedict's CWL. She enjoyed service and socializing with the ladies of Nu Chapter, Delta Chi Sigma Sorority. After Gerry retired from the Sarnia Fire Department, Pat and he enjoyed an adventurous life at Pine Lake in Bayfield, ON, as well as many winters in Florida. Pat's final years were contentedly spent with Gerry at Landmark Village, Sarnia. She leaves behind many lifelong friends who will miss her conversation, humor and special smile. Cremation has taken place. Visitation and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
