Obituary of Julianna Rebeka Hanak

Pazsa Julianna Rebeka Hanak – Died suddenly at her home, in her 89th year, on February 7, 2015 in Sarnia. Survived by her daughter Shirley Ilona Hanak in Canada and one niece and her family in Hungary as well as cousins in France. Predeceased by her parents and five siblings, her first husband (1968), her own son (1983) and second husband Leslie Hanak (1982). Born in eastern Hungary on February 9, 1926, she received her diploma in hairdressing in 1948 after the Second World War. Julianna worked in that industry for 37 years, which included running her own beauty salon. She left her life in Europe to come to Canada to take care of her younger niece, the daughter of her younger sister Helen who died in 1979. Julianna always enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading, cooking, shopping, gardening and, most of all, making people happy. She will be well remembered for her gracious generosity. A private family service has been held, where people were asked to wear Julianna's favourite colour of Purple. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to any charity of choice.
