Tiffanie McLachlin-Vancoillie
Hi! My name is Tiffanie McLachlin Vancoillie, but for most of my life I have been lovingly known as Taylor's sister. I grew up in Dawn Township just a short distance from the small Bentpath Community. At the age of four my life course was set when my brother, Taylor, was born with Down Syndrome. I told my mom that I would become a lawyer with letters after my name so I could always take care of him.
After attending Dawn Township Central School, I went on to L.C.C.V.I. in Petrolia and completed OAC which I graduated from with honours. In my final year of high school, I completed a co-op at the local funeral home and discovered that I had a passion for assisting families in need. As a youth, I developed a strong sense of commitment and responsibility for others, which made funeral service a perfect fit for me. I went off to Humber College and completed the Funeral Service Education Program and have enjoyed working as a Funeral Director for the past five years.
About two years ago, I decided to go back to school following my childhood dream, and I am currently attending King’s University College at Western in London. I completed my first year in April and have the pleasure of being on the Dean’s honour list.
I have been married for three years to Dave, who I met while working one of the three part time jobs I had during high school. For over fifteen years, I have been part of several choirs and have completed my grade eight with honours in voice and currently sing with my church choir. In the past, I have worked with St. Francis Advocates, Special Olympics and have enjoyed many charity walks. Currently, I am growing my hair to donate to Locks of Love and continue to prepare for one of several solos I do each year at area churches. I have been working part time at McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home for the last two years and have enjoyed the many opportunities to meet and serve families.
I am pleased to know that I am part of an incredible and competent staff who feels more like family then coworkers.
