Marilyn Harwood

Married for 44 years, a mother of 3 grown men, and a grandmother of 2, I was born in North Bay, and moved to Sarnia with my husband Fred 39 years ago.

I came to McKenzie & Blundy with a secret passion to be in the funeral business my whole life. Given the opportunity 10 years ago, I have become part of a wonderful team of people who truly care for the people we serve and I am proud to be one of them. I feel I am a great asset to our firm. My love for people, genuine caring, and high work ethics have advanced me from a greeter to a funeral assistance with the company. I take every opportunity possible to enhance my skills. I have attended ″Women In Funeral Service Conference; King's College Conference of ″Grief Across the Lifespan″ and have been trained as a bereavement facilitator in the ″Rainbows Program″ dealing with loss for children, teenagers and adults.

As well as working as a funeral assistant I am part of the aftercare team helping families after the funeral and also volunteer as a support bereavement facilitator for our in house bereavement groups.

I enjoy my family and friends, the outdoors and travel. I feel fortunate to be part of the McKenzie & Blundy team.
