Death Notice

CHARBONNEAU, Roger John – At Bluewater Health on Friday, February 24, 2012. Roger was born on January 16, 1925 in Timmins, Ontario. Brother of Guy (Kathy) Charbonneau, Sarnia, Gerald (Francoise) Charbonneau, Sherbrooke, Quebec, the late Gisele (Vince) Gavan and the late Lucille (Howard) Weston. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Emile & Marie Charbonneau. Roger worked in service in Halifax during W.W.II. He also worked in the accounting department at Dow Chemical in Sarnia and then as a French translator for Eaton’s in Toronto. He returned to Sarnia in the early ‘90’s and lived at the Sandpiper for many years. At Roger’s request, cremation has taken place.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Antoine Laforet at St. Joseph’s Church on Tuesday, April 17th at 10:30 a.m. Private interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE 519-344-3131.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, 420 N. A tree will be planted in memory of Roger Charbonneau in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 16th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area
